Flowstate - How to Play

Getting Started

Welcome to Flowstate, a rhythm game inspired by Osu! Mania Where you hit notes in time with the music.

It is highly recommended to play in fullscreen mode (F11) for the best hit detection and gameplay experience.

Song Selection

Keyboard: Use ↑/↓ arrows to navigate songs and ENTER to play selected song.

Mouse: Click on any song to play it immediately or use mouse wheel to scroll.

Debug Mode: Press F2 before starting a song to enable auto-play.

Gameplay Controls

Hit notes: Press the keys S, D, K, and L as notes reach the hit circles.

Restart: Hold R for 1 second during gameplay to restart the current song.

Return to menu: Press ENTER on the results screen to return to song selection.

★★☆☆☆ Normal Basic rhythm patterns

★★★☆☆ Normal+ More complex patterns

★★★★☆ Hard Fast streams and jumps

★★★★★ Expert Intense patterns for rhythm masters

Scoring

Perfect: 300 points - Hit with perfect timing

Good: 150 points - Hit with good timing

Bad: 50 points - Hit with poor timing

Miss: 0 points - Completely missed the note

Your combo multiplies as you hit consecutive notes without missing!

Grades

SS: 100% accuracy with Full Combo

S: 95%+ accuracy

A: 85%+ accuracy

B: 70%+ accuracy

C: 60%+ accuracy

D: 50%+ accuracy

F: Below 50% accuracy

Volume Controls

Adjust volume settings using the sliders in the top-left corner:

Music Volume: Controls the song volume
Hit Sound Volume: Controls the note hit sound effects
Miss Sound Volume: Controls the volume of miss sounds

Performance Tips

Refresh Rate: This game performs best on monitors with higher refresh rates (above 60Hz). While the game is playable at 60Hz, the gameplay experience is much smoother on 120Hz, 144Hz, or higher refresh rate displays.

Hardware: For optimal performance, use a dedicated graphics card and ensure your system meets these recommended specifications:

Modern CPU (any from the last 10 years should be fine)
At least 4GB of RAM
Any dedicated GPU or modern integrated graphics
Use an up-to-date browser (Chrome or Brave recommended)

Settings: For the best gameplay experience:

Play in Fullscreen mode (F11 or Settings → Fullscreen)
Use Zen Mode (F9 or Settings → Zen Mode) for minimal distractions
Adjust key bindings to a comfortable position for your hands
